TSSG & CompanyCam: Changing How We Plan, Quote, & Install Generators

  • June 12, 2024

In case you haven't heard, we've got some awesome news! TSSG and CompanyCam are joining forces and have become official partners. For those of you out there unfamiliar with CompanyCam, let me fill you in on some of the awesome features their tools can offer your dealership.

After working with a few dozen generator dealers over the last few months, we've come to the realization that most dealers out there are absolutely killing it when it comes to installs. The generator goes in, runs well, and looks fantastic when all is said and done.

So then what is the real source of friction?

Why do most dealers have a return visit problem? Why are install teams wasting time running to and from the warehouse for forgotten parts; or worse, bringing the wrong parts in the first place? This is where generator dealerships are losing the most money: the disconnect in the field is between sales and installation.

Enter CompanyCam. CompanyCam has a ton of awesome features that I'll get into in this article, but to put it simply— it bridges the gap between Sales and Install so that everyone is on the same page when it's time to install the generator. I'll let Chris do the job of walking you through the ins and outs:

So let's transform the way you plan, install, and quote generators by digging deeper into what CompanyCam has to offer.

How it Began

As generator dealers, have you ever taken photos and videos at job sites and wondered where the hell they went? Three brothers, Luke, Jake and Dane had the same issue while working for their family's roofing business. After discovering an app like this didn’t exist, they took matters into their own hands and created CompanyCam – a job site documentation app that goes way beyond roofing companies and is absolutely perfect for generator installations.

How Does it Benefit Generator Dealers?

CompanyCam makes communication and organization simpler. No more juggling photos at installation sites and wondering where your team’s content is instead it's all stored in your unlimited cloud-based account where anyone involved in the project can access them. This saves both your sales and installations teams a ton of time, and therefore money. The monthly cost of CompanyCam will have your wallet thanking you in the long run, and TSSG is now here to help you along the way.

How it Works

When you're selling generators, you are constantly taking photos and videos at customers' homes. CompanyCam will change the way your team’s documentation system.

When anyone on your team’s at a job site takes a photo or video, it is instantly available for everyone on your team to see. It’s stored in the cloud but stays in the app so you can take as many photos as you need without worrying that you’ll run out of storage. From 3 people to 50 people, getting your team added is the first step.

Just start by entering the email addresses of the team members, choose their permission levels, and send the invites!

Now you are ready to create your first project. Click “create project” and CompanyCam will automatically use GPS to save the project by location. Photos and videos taken are saved by job site location with the date, along with who took the photo. Add text and annotations to all photos and videos automatically with an AI-powered project walkthrough. This feature films with the front and back camera at the same time in order to create a walk through estimate or provide updates to your customers.

Once you've captured all the information relevant to the job, you're done! You're whole team now has access to the project and can see the content you recorded or wrote— including your installation crew, office staff, and even the customers if you want.

Let's Look at Some Cool Stuff:

CompanyCam has a ton of bells and whistles that you and your teams will love, but here are the 7 key features specific to generator dealers that we hit the ground running with for generator dealers.

Photo and Video Capture

Every photo taken in CompanyCam is instantly time-stamped, saved by location, and visible to the whole team. Now it's not just a photo— it's a tool to get everyone on the same page.

Now I know what you're probably thinking— "okay I have a camera on my phone so..."

Well that's just it. The photos never live on your device. You don't have to worry about uploading your images to the project in CompanyCam, it's all done for you. You're not wasting storage space on your phone and each project has its own file, so no more concerns with sending a photo from the wrong house over to your install guys. Believe me, it happens more than you'd think.

Checklists

Sometimes when you're out doing an in-home consultation and you're talking to a customer, things can get distracting.

You're trying to capture all the information you need in order to ensure an accurate quote or a seamless installation process, and you're also trying to answer all the questions the customer has. You make a mistake and miss a key photo you need.

This is where checklists come in. These allow you to map how you want the installation to be planned and gives you a roadmap so you can communicate your information to the installation team as efficiently as possible.

Not only does it simplify the communication process, but it makes it a hell of a lot harder to forget the information you need to gather. Say goodbye to follow up visits and awkward phone calls with customers.

These checklists are fully customizable too, so if you operate in a municipality where you need specific items for permitting or code requirements, you can add those to your install checklist so your guys don't miss out.

Annotations

Pictures tell a thousand words, but sometimes you need a few extra to get your point across. Easily mark up, draw, and annotate your photos right within the app to make it clear what you're trying to convey. Show and tell with the annotation feature by adding text, drawings and context to your photos or videos.

Marking up a photo with the right information takes only a few seconds. Making sure the customer knows you heard their concerns about their flowers? Priceless.

AI Pages

The latest and greatest feature of CompanyCam is their AI-powered dictation tool. Simply hit record and talk through what you're thinking. Snap a few pictures along the way and boom. You've got yourself a perfectly organized document with all the notes you talked through while walking the site. Check out this video example of how it works:

Galleries and Timelines

CompanyCam lets you showcase every step of the project. You can easily provide real-time updates as you work on the project with a Project Timeline. By sharing a link, both customers and subcontractors can access a dynamic photo feed that updates instantly. Create a customized displays of the project using a gallery feature by simply selecting the relevant photos to share with a single click, with all the information needed automatically included.

In App Communication

CompanyCam also lets you discuss everything in one place. Provide more details about a photo or project by leaving a comment or @mentioning crew members and collaborators.

Integrations

With 50+ direct integrations, chances are that CompanyCam’s got a connection you need. Even if they don't, we can connect any app to CompanyCam with their open API. So whether or not you have a separate quoting tool, CRM system, or Field Management System, all the information you gather in CompanyCam can get where it needs to go instantly.

This is one of the biggest reason TSSG and CompanyCam are a match made in heaven. CompanyCam integrates with all our digital sales enablement and in field software so that every member of your team knows exactly what's going on with a project at any given time.

Don't take our word for it though, CompanyCam loves connecting with other tools to make the transition as seamless as possible: “We integrate with more than 50 leading construction softwares to help get your CompanyCam photos to and from the other tools you use without spending hours in the office downloading and uploading. We also built a browser extension that works with Chrome, Brave, and Edge browsers to help users move their CompanyCam photos to other sites we don’t directly integrate with, like Gmail and Facebook.”

What Else Do You Need?

Through its innovative features such as photo documentation, real-time collaboration, and seamless organization, CompanyCam empowers dealers to effectively manage projects and communicate with clients. CompanyCam not only enhances the overall customer experience but also allows generator dealers to increase productivity, and ultimately increase sales.

The deeper you get into CompanyCam’s features, the more beneficial it will be for your generator dealership. If you are looking to simplify your documentation and communication processes and want to know more about how CompanyCam can help your dealership, we're happy to help. Book some time with TSSG and let's hit the ground running.
